I’m not really the type to blow my own trumpet. I don’t know why – I just end up feeling really embarrassed if I do. Even if the achievement merits a little singing of ones own praises. But, I have been told I shouldn’t hold back so much. Sooooo…. in the spirit of not holding back I am sharing a little bit of an achievement with you all.
I had intended to enter the New Zealand IRIS Awards back in September but unfortunately I ended up with a really awful flu and could barely brush my hair let alone do what needed to be done to enter the awards. I accepted that some things are out of our control and vowed to have a go next year. I was then very inspired to see all my friends winning awards – so thrilled for them and a bit bummed for myself, actually.
Then one day in October an email landed in my in box regarding the International Loupe Awards. I had seen these awards before but being an international competition I thought it was just for the big boys, so to speak. Then I just decided to have a go anyhow. I chose 3 images and entered them in 3 different categories and thought to myself – you never know if you don’t try and wouldn’t it be nice to get recognised for just 1 of them.
Well a couple of weeks ago I found out my results. I was a little stunned to find out I had won 3 Bronze awards – so each image I entered won something. It was a large feel good moment for me. Entering the International Loupe Awards was not something I did for anyone else but me, but in the end I am proud and I’m glad I did. So I am sharing the winning images with you all becuase my family, friends and fantastic clients inspire me to do what I do every day so why not share it?
Thanks to all of you who have already sent me a wee message. It means lot.
